It’s Wednesday! 🐪 How are you making yourself a priority today and the rest of this week? 🦩
This week I keep thinking of "future me" and making better decisions. Not all the time, but mostly. Like I was out of ice cream, got my keys, got near the door, and then came back in and had some yoghurt and berries. That felt good.
I'm still working from home and in the mornings I find it hard to separate personal time from work time -- I often get up and go right into work mode. But this morning I snuck in a short walk around the block before starting work 🚶♀️ and it made me very happy!! Even though it was truly just 3 blocks in one direction and 3 blocks back!
It's hard to imagine a good reason not to make sure you always get up in time to do this. Maybe 4 blocks next time, maybe 10.
Lately I have been setting short goals that I know I can achieve, I find this works well for me.
This week I decided to exercise at least 15 minutes every morning, before I have my coffee. I give myself one pass, so I have to exercise for 6 days. It is a mini-goal but I feel good when I achieve it. And next week I may up the time.
I wonder how other people motivate themselves to make time for self-care, especially when is really hard to carve out personal time from work and family responsibilities.
@Reina -- how'd it go this week with the 6 days?
@Chuck55, I love the idea of "future you!" Did you have any more wins this week?
Thanks @lindabrock527 I jumped in a cold river with my kid. May have lost a few hundred calories shivering!
Hey @Lindabrock527 I am re-establishing my exercise habit, after falling out of the routine for about 6 months. I'm on track still for a slow but steady comeback! Thanks for asking!
